LOVE Google Docs

Wow!
I really love the Google Docs.
Our library has been having a computer problem lately and we were forced to buy three new computers (yeah, after we opted out of the grant because it cost too much upfront money....). To add on Microsoft Office 2007 was going to cost a bundle more to the basic cost of each computer (since you need to purchase 5 to get a reduced price from Microsoft and we only need 3...way to help out the small rural libraries in need, Microsoft!)
So we were going to download an open source of Office. But I really don't see any need to do that. We just have to educate the patrons in use of the Google Docs and have them open their own accounts. Then they can save and store their own stuff and retrieve it when they need it instead of keeping it on the library computer's hard drive and leaving it there where anyone else can see it (yes, they do that!).
I was able to set up a simple power point presentation using their simple instructions and I've never done that before. I also played around with the form template and the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet would be great for our many templates that I type at home, save on a flashdrive and then carry it to work to open up at work (which sometimes doesn't work if the software isn't compatible!) If I can just create these on Google Doc (and I think I can now that I've tried it) this would save a lot of time and effort. Wow!
