Dear fellow Librarians,
I am looking forward to attending this class with you and learning lots of new things that I can use at the library in Gregory. The class curriculum covers areas where I admit I can always use help and more information. Although I try to keep up, I seem to be behind the cutting edge of the social networking scene. (I finally went on my personal Facebook page for the first time this week in over a year. I just don't have the time. And no internet at home. Sometimes that's a good thing.)
I did make a Pinterest account at one time, but now I can't seem to find the password for it. However, I know at one point I did find some neat ideas on there for library craft projects for our younger patrons!
I did sign up for LinkedIn but have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it.
My big project this summer after Institute was working on the library's new website...another new experience for me. The library is going to try and run a workshop for local businesses this winter to help them develop a web presence if they are interested. The trustees like our new website so much that now they want me to have a library Facebook page. ARGHHHH!
Maybe through the class I will force myself to spend time having fun with some of these things while my cohort waits on all the patrons. Except, that's one of my favorite fun things...
The only other thing new in my life is the prospect of another grandchild in January. I love all my grandboys. Can't wait!
