Lesson 2: Learning Express Library

Well, I tried the culinary arts test and discovered that after 35+ years of marriage, I know nothing about cooking or baking....and there was quick feedback about my lack of accomplishment just by pushing the SCORE button.  How nice.
But I appreciated the correct answers which helped me learn a thing or two...

The job section course I chose was the first one on vocabulary and spelling.  As a former teacher, I thought this one was very thorough, but might be difficult for someone working with a limited education.  The description of the phonics sounds might be a little daunting for someone who struggled in school to tackle on their own.  Just a thought.

I did download an e-book...about culinary arts.  When I have a chance, I might take time to read it and learn something.  My son has been a chef in a restaurant for years and he DID know the answers to the culinary arts test.  So I guess I have a few things to learn!

Very good, Diane! You're right that people with reading difficulties or low vocabularies might have trouble in here. They would need assistance or even someone to read the items to them. Otherwise, we think Learning Express has a lot to offer people who want to improve their lives. Thanks for your comments.
