From the desk of Daria Bossman via my email today:
(As someone who has taken courses from these terrific instructors, I have to say "Whoo hoo!")
Congratulations are in order for
Julie Erickson and Jane Healy, our two SDSL Electronic Services
Coordinators. They recently had an article published in the
Journal of Electronic Resources Librarianship. The article
focuses on the creative expansion of one of their unique teaching tools
which many of you have taken online in recent years, the
SDSL Electronic Resources Challenge.
This article will be of greatest interest to other
states library agencies’ Development office wishing to creatively extend
their instructional reach, but is also applicable to our public,
academic and school librarians attempting to reach local teachers, professors,
staff, local community leaders who work with students in classrooms every day
and have contact with the broader community. (Hint: The instructional model can be copied!)
Congratulations again to Julie and Jane. Not only
are they excellent instructors and adult educators, but creative and
forward thinking in the design and delivery of their pedagogy. We are
proud of these gals! Thank you for representing
SDSL/DOE and South Dakota so well!
…And if you have not taken the SDSL Electronic Resources Challenge (and always wanted to really KNOW what was in all those databases piped to your library door) watch the
Cornerstone or contact our CE department for the next offering.
