19 Minutes
In this book by Jodi Picoult, a girl named Josie seems to have the perfect life. She's smart, beautiful, has the perfect boyfriend, and seems to have it all together. As you read you realize that this is far from the truth. She struggles between keeping her good childhood friend Peter, or leaving him and pretending to be someone she's not to fit into the popular crowd. During this book, a shooting occurs at Sterling High by Peter. He's tired of being picked on and humiliated and just wants life to be better for him and Josie, whom he still cares for. Ten people were killed by 17 year old Peter, one of them being Matt, Josie's boyfriend. Matt was the only one to get shot two times, and this brings up suspicion. Authorities question if Peter was the only one holding a gun that day. Is everyone really who they appear to be? This is a suspenseful and exciting book about growing up and high school life. It's hard to put down and is one of the very best books I have read.~by Mackenzie
