What kind of fun stuff is happening at the library this summer?
"Dig into Reading" is the theme for programs for children who have completed preschool through 5th grade. Activity Story Times are scheduled on Monday afternoons June 3-June 24 from 12:30-2 pm led by Mrs. Roeder and Mrs. Althoff. The Summer Reading Challenge begins May 28th and ends June 24th. Prizes will be awarded. Sign up and read for fun this summer! (And I heard rumors about a possible pool party for all eager readers...)
Teens that have completed 6th-8th grade are welcome to join in two new programs in July this summer. "Beneath the Surface" is a program that includes hands-on special events with local community leaders sharing their skills in geocaching, sports medicine and taxidermy. This program also includes looking at what's beneath the surface at the local library and also some looking under the covers of some great books. Teens that manage to complete the entire program will win prizes on their journey and will qualify to put their names in for a free drawing for a Kindle eReader. The first meeting will be Monday, July 15 at 1 pm.
"Summer Teen Writing Camp" is a program geared for those who are excited about using their imagination and creativity in the writing process. A brief time of imagination spark will be followed by free time to pursue that dream. An organizational meeting will be held on Monday, July 8th at 12:30 pm. Members will determine at the meeting the future times and dates for ongoing gatherings.
